  • Sales Engineer, Desktop and Central Issuance (m/f) — LATAM
    To support our clients in Latin America, we are looking for a: Sales Engineer, Desktop and Central Issuance (m/f)

    Your Tasks

    • Provide pre-sales support to Latin America’s sales force and assist them in composing comprehensive customer offers
    • Identify new leads & partners for the region
    • Support customers and partners in Latin America on all technical matters for Matica desktop printer hardware & applications – remote or onsite whichever required
    • Provide profound consulting for customers with regards to the integration of hardware into their existing or new environment
    • Install and test functionality of the products in the field for demonstration or post sales services
    • Analyse technical problems to report failure modes to the engineering and manufacturing team in Europe
    • Organize technical product trainings and installations of hardware at tradeshows, partner meetings, or other marketing events
    • Liaise with central technical department / product management team
    • Provide pre-sales support to the local sales team whenever technical assistance is required in the sales process

    Qualifications:
    • Completed degree in electronic/mechanical engineering or comparable qualification
    • Several years of work experience as sales engineer or technical support engineer
    • Technical support and pre-sales work experience in the desktop card industry (at major industry manufacturers or distributors)
    • Work experience in the Central Issuance industry is considered a plus
    • Very good written and oral English language skills, local language skills of advantage
    • Strong service mentality to meet the client's interests at the heart of the relationship
    Work Requirements:
    • Colombia or Mexico home office based
    • International business travel required (60% or more)

  • Head of Engineering, Desktop / Card Printers (m/f)- Dubai, UAE
    For our office in Dubai, we are looking for a: Head of Engineering, Desktop / Card Printers (m/f)

    Purpose of the role:

      Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing engineering strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product development, quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence. Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, customer service, manufacturing, sales and customers regarding technical support of their activities. Responsible for all areas of the Engineering function and quality of product delivery, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver to the customer’s expectations, managing teams and projects across the business. Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills. Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Engineering function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards. Drive continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

      Strategy and Development
    • Overall responsibility for Engineering activities across Matica’s Desktop solutions
    • Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
    • Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
    • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
    • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
    • Take ownership of the engineering policy, guidelines and any associated documents
    • Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes
    General and Task Management
    • Leadership of multi-functional engineering team with regards to hardware, firmware, electronics, software
    • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of build design, from contract award to handover
    • Lead the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue and analysis of returned goods
    • Develop planning and prioritize processes to ensure that multi-disciplinary resource is well aligned to maximize delivery of projects
    • Ensure any new engineering activity is supported with appropriate qualification documentation and that this is appropriately stored. Ensure up to date drawings are maintained appropriately
    • Work with Product Management/Marketing on product development, market opportunities and trends
    • Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of product while maintaining quality, and achieving cost targets in a timely fashion
    • Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution
    • Operate a process for safe selection of external contractors. In conjunction with the Head of Purchasing ensure all external contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure best value
    • Report on Engineering activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators
    • Establish quality and reliability standards by studying industry benchmarks and the requirements of customers and research/design and development, and define the metrics required to assess performance against standards
    Financial Budget and Control
    • Prepare the annual Engineering budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with customer and legal requirements. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects
    • Input and hold responsibility for engineering budgets

    • Master degree in Electronical Engineering
    • Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems

    Your tasks:

    • Assist the Sales Director and all outside sales representatives in their region on all sales matter during the sales cycle:
      • Generate and qualify leads via phone and email
      • Prepare quotations and offers to potential customers
      • Initiate and take sales orders from customers
      • Check sales order pricing, entry into the ERP system and communicate with customers and order processing when orders are shipped
      • Interact with production to coordinate delivery time
      • Strong interaction and coordination with warehousing and logistics for the region
      • Resolve product or service problems by clarifying customer’s complaint and determining the cause of the problem. Choose and explain the best solution to solve the issue, expediting correction or adjustment. Follow up the process to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction.
      • Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports
      • Manage forecasts for products and sales
      • Maximize business relationships and create an environment of excellent customer service and satisfaction
      • Support the partner and distribution network in the region
